Design Process

Initial Consultation

This can be by phone or zoom etc or an appointment at your home / premises can be arranged for a minimum 1 hour fee to cover some time and travel (up to about 20 miles from Aberdeen City Centre) costs - if you decide not to proceed then there is no other charge.

During this meeting we will review your project to establish your requirements and style preferences to form a brief for quotation.

It is helpful (but not a necessity) if, prior to our appointment, you are able to find examples of your likes and dislikes from websites or magazines to help gain an understanding of your style preferences quickly.

The next steps

Interior Design Fees for residential projects
Design fees will vary according to the number of rooms and the scope of the work involved.

From our initial consultation I will take into account the time involved to meet your particular requirements and will then advise you how much the design fee will be.

If you are happy to proceed, I will send you an invoice and at this point you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of the design fee.

Once I have received your acceptance I will arrange an appointment with you to complete a site survey, take photographs and discuss ideas in more detail.

A bespoke scheme will be provided to meet your brief and will include ideas for soft furnishings, wall, window and floor coverings. We will list suppliers and where to source the products together with price indications.

This service is charged from £350.

Any purchases made by prior agreement and on behalf of the client are subject to an advance payment of 50% of the total cost.

Products such as fabrics, wallpapers, floor coverings, furniture, and accessories are supplied at competitive prices.
Any delivery charges incurred will be charged at cost.

Interior Design Fees for commercial projects
Larger projects and commercial work will be agreed on a fixed fee basis and based upon an agreed percentage of your budget for the project. A fee proposal is prepared once the scope of the project is agreed with you. Please contact me to arrange a no obligation no fee meeting.

Final step

You may decide to undertake the work yourself or you could ask us to manage and supervise the project from start to finish, arranging purchases, delivery, building modifications, decoration, installation, making up curtains and fitting etc. Design time, Consultation and Project Management services are charged at £55 / hr and agreed with you prior to any work commencing.
